Tubular Metal Sheathed Infrared Heaters

General Description

Tubular heaters generate infrared heat in the 2.5 - 3 μm range of the electromagnetic spectrum. The practical maximum temperature is 900˚F with a maximum sheath temperature of 1500˚F (Incoloy sheath). They're commonly mounted into aluminum housings with polished reflectors.

Applications:
Tubular heaters for infrared are used where max temperatures of 500˚F on the material are desired. Examples:

  1. comfort heating
  2. Curing & drying of various materials
comparison of radiant heaters
